Hoe een woonconcept uitgroeit tot een sociale beweging<\/strong>
\nBijna tien jaar geleden was Knarrenhof een eigenwijs idee van Peter Prak en Liedeke Reitsma. Wat begon als een kleinschalige woonoplossing voor vitale ouderen, is ontwikkeld tot een sociale beweging. Eerde Schippers van INBO haakte vroeg aan als architect, later nam Trude de Vroomen met haar team zijn rol over. Manon Overdijk, sinds 2018 directielid en procesregelaar bij Knarrenhof, bewaakt het sociale proces van de bewoners. Samen blikken ze terug en vooruit.<\/p>\n

Inmiddels is Knarrenhof een fenomeen, maar de zoektocht naar verbetering blijft. \u2018Bij INBO voelen we de verantwoordelijkheid om te blijven kijken, vragen, vernieuwen,\u2019 zegt Trude. Manon is het daar mee eens: \u2018Het succes van Knarrenhof zit niet in het bouwen van hofjes, maar in het blijven ontwikkelen van een manier van samenleven die past bij deze tijd. We hebben geen vast recept. Elk project leert ons iets nieuws. Wat werkt in Oldenzaal, werkt niet per se in Eindhoven. En dat is ok\u00e9. Van woonvorm naar manier van leven<\/strong>
\nKnarrenhof ontstond als antwoord op de wens van vitale ouderen om in een hofje te wonen en naar elkaar om te kijken. Samen maar met voldoende eigen privacy. In een tijd van individualisering bood het hofje nabijheid en gedeeld eigenaarschap, van zowel het Hofhuys \u2013 de gemeenschappelijke ruimte voor ontmoeting en activiteiten \u2013 als de gezamenlijke tuin.<\/p>\n

\u2018Knarrenhof is en was nooit een bouwconcept. Het gaat om de mensen, de stenen die komen er wel,\u2019 zegt Manon. \u2018Het is een keuze. Een manier van leven. Voor nabuurschap, voor delen, ontmoeten, elkaar een handje helpen. Die waarden blijven vast, maar de manier waarop we ze vormgeven blijft zich ontwikkelen.\u2019 Volgens haar is die flexibiliteit ook op de lange termijn nodig.
