Eenvoudige, overzichtelijke en herkenbare architectuur is belangrijk voor ouderen met dementie. Zo begrijpen zij beter waar zij zijn.<\/p>\n

Hof van Nassau ziet eruit als een dorpje, niet als een instituut. Je kunt steeds links en rechts, er zijn weinig bochten en korte gangen. De bewoners ori\u00ebnteren zich aan de hand van herkenningspunten: \u2018Ik woon bij dat fonteintje.\u2019<\/p>\n

Het complex is een verzameling van herkenbare huisjes, verschillend in kleur en vorm. We pasten in het interieur diverse kleuren, sferen en materialen toe. De bewoners onthouden zo makkelijker waar ze zijn. Dat leidt tot een grotere zelfstandigheid.<\/p>\n

De architectuur stimuleert beweging. Er is veel buitenruimte: binnentuinen en dorpspleintjes waar je een winkeltje voor dagelijkse boodschappen kunt vinden, en de kapper, de fysiotherapeut en de werkplaats van de huismeester.\u00a0De bewoners moeten echt de deur uit als ze ergens heen willen.<\/p>\n

Elke bewoner heeft een slim polsbandje. Sommige deuren blijven gesloten. Het verzorgend personeel kan met de smartphone de bewoners lokaliseren.<\/p>\n

Opdrachtgever TanteLouise is ervan overtuigd dat beweging bijdraagt aan gezondere en gelukkigere bewoners. Ervaring toont zelfs aan dat het medicijngebruik door beweging significant kan dalen. De bewoners blijven langer mobiel en voeren zoveel mogelijk de regie over het eigen leven.<\/p>\n

Er is een afname van onbegrepen gedrag en minder bewoners bereiken de laatste fase van dementie. De zorgvraag neemt af.<\/p>\n

In het gebouw zijn slimme vloeren aangebracht. Daarmee kun je in vroeg stadium het risico op vallen vaststellen. Sensoren in de vloer, nu nog in een testfase, registreren de bewegingen van de cli\u00ebnten, bepalen het valrisico en nemen als het nodig is Hof van Nassau maakt gebruik van een WKO-installatie, die verwarmt in de winter en koelt in de zomer. Een warmtepomp aangevuld met zonne-energie zorgt voor de energiebesparing.<\/p>\n
