De voormalige ambachtsschool aan de Verspronckweg in Haarlem stond al jaren leeg. INBO ontwierp samen met COD de transformatie van ambachtsschool naar woongebouw. Het gebouw uit 1922 is met zijn indrukwekkende omvang een landmark in de stad.<\/h4>\n","text_right":"

Geplooide aardlagen en geologische vervormingen vormden de inspiratie voor ons ontwerp voor het markante gebouw van de faculteit Geowetenschappen van de Universiteit Utrecht. Met zijn massieve horizontale banden sluit de architectuur aan op de aard van de gebruiker. De belangrijkste gebruikers van gebouw GEO zijn wetenschappelijk onderzoekers. Een tough crowd<\/em> volgens Peter Blok, opdrachtgever namens de universiteit:<\/p>\n

\u201cZij voelen zich het meeste thuis in een beschermde omgeving. Op plekken waar ze zich kunnen terugtrekken, binnen hun eigen onderzoeksgroep.\u201d<\/p>\n

Maar de kern van een universiteit is dat er kennis wordt uitgewisseld. Daarvoor is ontmoeting en contact nodig. Een lange gang met kamers werkt dan niet. \u201c<\/p>\n

Je moet communities bouwen, een centraal thema van de universiteit. Met eenheid \u00e9n eigenheid voor elk van hen. Daarin floreren ze het beste. In dialoog heeft INBO ruimtelijk prachtig weten te vertalen wat wij Een opdrachtgever met zo\u2019n duidelijke wil is een fijn startpunt voor een architect. Samen keken we naar de gewenste no-nonsense uitstraling van het gebouw. GEO ontleent de identiteit aan de karakteristieke gevel, het zuivere materiaalgebruik en de diverse verwijzingen naar het werk van de gebruiker in het ook door ons ontworpen interieur.<\/p>\n

De meeste aandacht ging uit naar de perfecte balans tussen ontmoeting stimuleren en bescherming bieden. De kantoorvleugels bestaan uit concentratiewerkplekken en open ontmoetingsplekken voor inhoudelijk overleg. Door de looproutes te laten verspringen, creeerden we clusters van kamers, hoekjes en zitjes.<\/p>\n
